Dr Giles Cattermole

Giles Cattermole

Giles is an EM consultant at KCH NHS Foundation Trust. He’s been teaching on ALS, APLS and ATLS since the early noughties, and on Bromley courses since 2010. After training in Wales, he worked at Chinese University of Hong Kong for a couple of years, and still teaches regularly on their MSc in prehospital emergency care, as an honorary associate professor. Giles is also an honorary associate professor at the University of Rwanda, where he worked 2015-17.

Routinely using ultrasound in the ED there convinced him that we should all be using it, much more widely! Giles is especially interested in Global Health, and was founding chair of RCEM’s committee on Global EM. Giles holds degrees in physiology, ethics of healthcare, and theology.

He lives in Orpington with his wife and children, and is a keen cruciverbalist.
