About our MRCEM Primary Exam Revision Course

What is the Structure of the Course?
Our courses are offered both in-class and live-streamed online. Both options allow you to ask questions live and interact with other candidates and the lecturer.Â
You will receive two practice papers in advance of the course that should be completed before attending. We will then discuss all these questions over the first few hours of the course.
From there we will move on to two other papers, which will be taken under exam conditions to give you the experience of sitting this kind of exam paper. This is then followed by immediate discussions and clarifications of the answers.
You will also have free access to our MRCEM Primary video webinars, which go into each area of the exam in much more detail. These can be viewed through our mobile app or our website. Your access continues until after the exam and will provide you with well-structured and well-illustrated explanations.

What Does the MRCEM Primary Course Cover?
This course covers the areas tested in the exam (the RCEM Basic Sciences curriculum), including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, statistics, and pathology.
The course samples across these areas, particularly focusing on areas which have been popular within the MRCEM Primary exam and on those which are difficult to understand. We will look particularly at:
Upper limb anatomy as it is affected by trauma

Pharmacology, including anaesthetic drugs, drugs affecting the QT interval and important interactions
Important infectious organisms
Sensitivity, specificity and Evidence-Based Medicine terminology
Cellular reactions to injury and important inflammatory mediators, the inflammatory process, hypersensitivity reactions and healing of specific tissues

What are the Benefits of taking the MRCEM Primary Course?

Through undertaking our practice papers and the discussions you will come to understand what the college is looking for and how to choose between options which may appear only subtly different.

be able to determine those areas in which you need to do most revision
have been exposed to areas of which you may not have been aware
have explored a high proportion of difficult areas within the curriculum
have free access to our online video webinars, which go into each area of the MRCEM Primary exam in much more detail
