Colles’ Fracture Ultrasound Training Phantom
Practise ultrasound assessment of distal forearm fractures with a realistic Colles’ fracture phantom designed for hands-on training. The model allows healthcare professionals to identify a simulated fracture, assess bone position and alignment, and practise ultrasound-guided techniques around the wrist and forearm in a controlled training environment.

- Lifelike Ultrasound Imaging: Made from advanced PVA hydrogel material, the phantom closely replicates the acoustic properties of human tissue, delivering clear, realistic ultrasound images of the embedded bone structures.
- Realistic fracture anatomy: Features embedded radius and ulna replicas within a one-piece PVA hydrogel forearm model. The distal radius incorporates a simulated Colles’ fracture, allowing users to identify the fracture and assess the position and alignment of the bone under ultrasound.

Care and Storage
This phantom has a high water content, so it’s naturally wet to the touch. It contains a preservative to prevent mould growth.
- Lifespan: Typically 3–6 months, depending on how it is used and stored
- Storage tips:
- Long-term: Keep in the freezer if not using for an extended period
- In use: Store in an airtight container in the fridge to prevent drying
- Replace the phantom when:
- It becomes hard or shows signs of mould
- The internal structure is too damaged for continued use
