This one-day Obs & Gynae Ultrasound – Beyond the Basics course is designed for clinicians who already have a basic understanding of obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound, whether gained through our Basic Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound Course or through previous clinical experience. Building on these foundations, the course explores ultrasound assessment at different stages of pregnancy, as well as the recognition and assessment of common obstetric and gynaecological pathologies.

About Our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound – Beyond the Basics Course
What you’ll learn
- Gynaecological assessment of the pelvic structures using transabdominal (TA) and transvaginal (TV) ultrasound techniques (TV scanning on manikins only)
- Recognition of common gynaecological pathologies
- Ultrasound assessment of early pregnancy
- Ultrasound assessment of later pregnancy, including fetal lie and presentation, fetal heart activity, multiple pregnancy, placental position, amniotic fluid volume, and fetal biometry
How is the course taught?
- Pre-course online learning videos
- Short lectures covering obstetric and gynaecological pathology
- Extensive hands-on scanning, including:
- Transabdominal ultrasound on live models (including pregnant volunteers) and simulators
- Transvaginal ultrasound on simulators and manikins
