Dr Zoltan Gyorgyi

Dr Zoltan Gyorgyi is a Consultant Paediatric Intensivist with a specialist interest in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS). He established one of the United Kingdom’s first comprehensive paediatric POCUS programmes in Edinburgh, embedding ultrasound as a core component of paediatric critical care. This was achieved through structured training, robust governance, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.
He has designed, directed, and delivered ultrasound education across the UK and internationally, with a strong commitment to learner-oriented teaching and supervision. He is an advocate of training for excellence, good ultrasound governance, and looking after equipment.
In 2025, he took time away from clinical practice and competed at an international level in open water swimming.
