Ultrasound-Assisted Lumbar Puncture Course
This half-day, hands-on course is designed to equip clinicians with the knowledge and practical skills to perform ultrasound-assisted lumbar puncture. You’ll learn how to use ultrasound to identify lumbar spine landmarks, optimise patient positioning, and accurately mark the site for needle insertion — improving first-pass success rates and reducing complications, particularly in patients with challenging anatomy.
This technique allows you to visualise the path from skin to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) to optimise procedural success. Once the ideal path is identified, however, ultrasound is not used to guide the needle through the tissues.
You can apply for 3 CPD points for this course.
Course Date: 12th November 2025
Course Times: 9:00am – 12:30pm or 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Fee: £195
Location: Terracotta Court (ground floor), 167 Tower Bridge Road, London, SE1 3LN

Image for demonstration purposes only. Needle insertion will be practiced on manikins, while scanning will be performed on both real volunteers and manikins.
