Our faculty will guide you through:
- Indications and contraindications for lumbar puncture and the role of ultrasound assistance (aligned with national guidelines)
- Overview of lumbar spine anatomy relevant to lumbar puncture
- Ultrasound physics and image optimisation for LP site marking
- Step-by-step ultrasound- assisted lumbar puncture procedure
- Tips for challenging cases, including high BMI patients or unclear landmarks
Practical sessions include scanning high-fidelity lumbar puncture manikins as well as human volunteers.
