Bromley Emergency Courses provides face-to-face and online training in Emergency Medicine. Currently we run exam preparation courses in the UK and internationally for the following postgraduate Emergency Medicine exams:

  • FRCEM Primary Examination
  • FRCEM Intermediate Certificate SAQ Paper
  • European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM)

We also run regular training courses in Emergency Ultrasound and Emergency Radiology.

We started in 2005, and are now the largest provider of  MRCEM (Membership of The College of Emergency Medicine) and FRCEM (Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine) training in the UK. We also run regular  courses in Europe, Dubai and India as well as offer online teaching and training which can be accessed by doctors  anywhere in the world. Last year we delivered a total of around 30 separate face to face courses in the UK and internationally.

We are very proud of the high quality of our training and aim to give excellent value for money. All our courses are led by senior Emergency Physicians with many years experience of Emergency Medicine teaching and training and who have  a passion for their Specialty and for medical education. We like to say that Bromley Emergency Courses in run by Emergency Physicians for Emergency Physicians!

Management team

Director, Bromley Emergency Courses

Ian graduated from Kings College London. After training in Emergency Medicine he was appointed Clinical Lecturer in Emergency Medicine at Guy's Hospital in 1995 and later Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the Princess Royal University Hospital in 1999, where he was Head of Department for many years. He has a keen interest in Emergency Medicine education and training and founded Bromley Emergency Courses in 2005. Ian teaches on nearly all of our courses and has been active in producing much of our online materials.

MathewDr Mathew Hall BM BCHIR PHD MRCEM
Faculty Lead

Mathew obtained a PhD in Biological Sciences at Cambridge University and undertook Post-Doctoral research before qualifying in medicine at Oxford. He initially trained in General Medicine before switching to Emergency Medicine where he has worked as a Specialty Doctor for the past 15 years. Mathew has a passion for Emergency Medicine education and as well as acting as Faculty Lead with Bromley Emergency Courses he has co-authored two well known EM Textbooks - 'Mastering Emergency Medicine' and 'Get Through MCEM Part B'.

Karyn Collison
Office Manager

Karyn has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. She moved to the United Kingdom in 2010 and joined the Bromley Emergency Courses team in October 2015. Karyn is responsible for staffing our office as well as ensuring smooth running of all our courses and managing our website. She can be contacted with any enquiries or questions in the office weekdays from 9.30am to 5.00pm (UK time) on +44(0)20 7998 8588.

By booking onto one of our courses, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.

  • All course materials, examination practice papers and videos are the intellectual property of Bromley Emergency Courses. By booking onto a course, or purchasing materials on the website, delegates acknowledge this and agree not to copy or distribute these materials.
  • Bromley Emergency Courses reserves the right to make minor alterations to the programme, speakers, or venue of any of our courses.
  • Should a course be cancelled for any reason, we shall endeavour to reschedule and will refund the cost of the course in full.
  • Delegates making a cancellation more than six weeks before a course will be refunded in full, less a 10% administration fee.
  • Delegates making a cancellation between two and six weeks before a course will be entitled to a 50% refund.
  • Delegates making a cancellation less than two weeks before a course will not be entitled to a refund.
  • If, for any reason, a delegate should not feel happy with the quality of a course, or something should happen during a course, which is outside of Bromley Emergency Courses' control, that affects the quality of a course, the delegate will not be entitled to a refund.
  • Bromley Emergency Courses does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of a delegate's property/personal effects whilst on a course.
