Core Emergency Ultrasound Course

Welcome to our Core Emergency Ultrasound course videos.

These are designed to equip you with essential knowledge before you come to the practical course. Please watch these videos before attending the course as this will help ensure you get as much practical scanning time on the course day.

The package is made up of:

1. Knobology, eFAST, Lung, AAA, ECHO in Life Support and Vascular Access. These six are essential. You can test your knowledge after each of these topics with a short quiz.
2. Governance. It is important to understand the limits of Point-of-Care-Ultrasound (POCUS) before you use it clinically.
3. Physics. This will help you to understand how ultrasound works and why, in some situations, it gives artefacts or is unable to penetrate.
4. ECHO – Improving Your Imaging Technique. This goes beyond what is essential for the course. It will help you make the most of cardiac ultrasound in the practical session.
