MRCEM Primary Faculty (£300 per day)

Teaching on our MRCEM primary courses involves the discussion of about 200 questions (or a portion of these), where you will need to be able to explain the reasoning behind each correct answer and address any questions candidates may have. One-third of the questions focus on anatomy, one-third on physiology, and the remaining third includes microbiology, pathology, and statistics (evidence-based medicine).

You can teach all areas or choose a specific one. All teaching materials are prepared in advance. The question review should provide informative insights for a substantial proportion of candidates taking the course. This can be achieved with images on the screen or other visual aids, such as a skeleton.

If you wish, you can also contribute to online webinars, quizzes, and MRCEM Primary questions. Compensation will be based on the amount of content produced.

MRCEM SBA Faculty (£300 per day)

Facilitating our MRCEM SBA courses involves walking candidates through about 250 SBA questions (or a portion of these) over two days, providing a brief discussion regarding the reasoning behind the answer and why the other four options are less desirable.

The discussions should be short, precise, informative, and ideally memorable.

Teaching materials are already prepared and you’ll have the opportunity to select preferred areas such as trauma, paediatrics, toxicology, and others.

If you wish, you can also contribute to webinars, online quizzes, discussions, and writing SBA questions, where payment will be based on the amount of content produced.

You will observe simulated OSCE stations similar to those in the actual exam, taking notes and providing 5 minutes of structured feedback to candidates on their performance and giving suggestions for improvement.

Each faculty member usually undertakes four or five OSCE stations in a course day (repeating each station several times).

FRCEM SBA Faculty (£300 per day)

You will guide candidates through about 250 SBA questions (or a portion of these) over two days, providing concise discussions on the rationale behind the best answer and why the other four options are less desirable.

Discussions should be brief, precise, informative, and ideally memorable.

All teaching materials are already prepared and you can choose specific areas, such as trauma, paediatrics, toxicology, and others.

FRCEM OSCE Faculty (£300 per day)

Similar to the MRCEM OSCE course, you will observe simulated stations, take notes, and provide 5 minutes of structured feedback to candidates on their performance and give suggestions for improvement.

As the nature of final FRCEM OSCE stations is more complex than the MRCEM OSCE, each station may involve multiple components to evaluate, for example, teaching combined with a procedure or a physical examination.

You will also need to provide feedback on the critical appraisal component.

WHY TEACH WITH US

“I joined Bromley courses as a faculty member for PLAB 2. I found it quite useful in how organised and systematic their general approach was. I have learned an excellent structure in delivering medical education. It also helped refresh my medical knowledge and clinical skills. I definitely would love to continue and expand on delivering more and different courses.”

“Working with Bromley Emergency is a unique opportunity for anyone keen to be part of medical education. Teaching for the PLAB 2 course has given me an opportunity to give back the knowledge and work experience to international medical graduates that I gained after being part of the same route to get registered with the GMC. Professionally, it has helped me keep my core skills of medical examination and approach to patients updated. Would definitely recommend it.”
