Introduction to Ultrasound for Acute Medicine

Our one-day Introduction to Ultrasound for Acute Medicine course is based on the successful foundations of our Core (level 1) Emergency Ultrasound teaching. We have consulted several physicians to ensure the course meets the needs of Doctors working in acute medicine, facing procedures such as:

Chest Scanning
Echo
Vascular Access
Basic Abdominal Ultrasound
DVT assessment

On these topics, we provide focussed teaching of key skills and 5 hours of practical experience in small groups, allowing further feedback. Our ultrasound courses will always be limited to 15 candidates to ensure this; and we provide hands-on practice with 5 different portable US machines, and a hand-held device now increasingly being used in clinical settings.

This course has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 6 category 1 (external) CPD credit(s).
