Introduction to ECHO
Next Course: TBA
Course Leads: Dr Ian Stell
Venue: St Olav's Court, 25 Lower Road, Canada Water, London, SE16 2XB
We have introduced this course because of the growing interest in the use of ECHO in emergency situations. This course is aimed at clinicians with some experience of ultrasound, ideally with some Core (Level 1) experience gained already.
The ECHO Ultrasound course
The purpose of the course is to build on your confidence in ECHO in life-support, and to introduce you to the range of potential applications of ECHO in emergency situations.
The course will include lectures on clinical governance issues, obtaining cardiac views, LV function and measurements, RV function, pericardial effusions and tamponade and valve disease. The lectures will be interspersed with lots of hands-on practice, on a number of normal subjects.
Places are limited to allow direct practical tuition, and candidates will have plenty of time to practice different views, and to put in to practice all of the the advice that the faculty will have presented throughout the lectures.
